Hi Parents of S1/S2 Students,
If your teen's Math grades are worrying you, not even reaching 60 points (between 30-60), let me help you lighten your load!
Unlock Math SUCCESS now!
From my experience, if your child achieved
1. An ALS4 or below for Math for PSLE and/Or
2. Is not able to achieve 60 and above for Sec 1 or Sec 2 Math either for G2 or G3 streams
This indicates a rocky foundation in Math and a boost at Methodbox is what they need to bring their grades up to a B3 and above.
If he or she is hoping to achieve
1. Upgrading from G2 to G3 E maths and
2. Planning to upgrade their G3 results so as to offer double math and/Or pure Physics for Secondary 3
I can help! Having spent decades helping young minds find clarity and "Aha" moments for Math, these are some of the few issues I have helped students overcome to improve their Math grades in surprising leaps:
1. Incomplete understanding of basic Algebraic manipulations. Mathematical rules are very clear, even systematic. I will help your child systematically understand, remember and imprint these rules in their minds so that calculations can be smoothly processed on paper during exams.
2. Not understanding the question. Secondary Math have key words and correlations between topics. I will show them how they are correlated and how to spot key words and its related solution methods.
3. Reading the question again to confirm what the question is asking for before putting down the answer. This is a habit that I will instill in your child to promote good practices.
3. Making mistakes due to bad handwriting! How many mistakes have I seen (and wished to laugh and cry at the same time) involving 0, 6, 9, - , ÷ and so on. Definitely another difficult habit I have had to train a few teens.
4. Refusing to copy and re-copy unchanged parts of equations by rushing to do massive mental sums in the head without achieving the correct answer. This mistake has proven to be one of the hardest bad habits to break in my teen students.
You can tell from the above that as much as I teach students methods so that they can excel in answering Math questions, I also hope to inculcate more than just the ability to understand and do well academically. I also understand the non-math nuances that I have been able to help teens overcome in their personal growth in Math and hopefully instill in them the pride that comes when hard-work is rewarded with unbelievable improvement and good results!
Student Progress will be assessed periodically to adjust from improvements and weaknesses!
