What a blast!
From AL5 points to AL2 .... all within a few months of coaching from Teacher Mel
JY is a talented dancer with a packed schedule of ballet 5 days a week with barely enough time to prepare for her PSLE! She truly started preparing for her PSLE Math and Science under Teacher Mel from May onwards.
Time was tight and JY's Prelim results maintained at it's baseline. But once she started to grasp key thinking processes, her speed and confidence improved tremendously. With patience, topic focused, and organised coaching, JY jumped from an AL5 to an AL2 in Math in just a few months before the PSLE! 🎉
Under Teacher Mel's guidance for her Science, JY's Science score improved as well, going from AL4 to AL3. 💪
With the right guidance and a bit of determination, amazing things can happen—even for the busiest students!
Lighting a Match!
AL5 points to AL1
CC used to dread Maths. It was her least favourite subject, and her grades just barely scraped AL5—she always took a long time to finish her math assignments and just couldn’t seem to connect with it.
But all that changed after she started learning with Teacher Mel. With lots of encouragement, patience, and the right kind of questions that enabled her to make quick logical wins, something incredible happened: her interest in Maths was lit like a match! It went from being her weakest subject to her absolute favourite.
Her Science interest was also sparked with correlations of day to day uses of the Science knowledge from the MOE Syllabus. Add on a systematic answering method and key Science concepts to remember, her love of Science was also ignited.
Fast forward a few months—she scored an AL1 for both Maths and Science in her PSLE, and was even awarded the most improved subject award in Mathematics. Now in Secondary school, she’s one of the top scorers in both Maths and Science in her class. 🎉
Sometimes, it’s not just about drilling techniques or memorising formulas. It’s about sparking curiosity, making learning fun, and helping students see the subject in a new light. That’s the real magic.
